Our Mission

Mitch’s Soccer 2.0 provides free soccer services through community partnerships while spreading mental health and IBD awareness

What we do

After realizing how severe his depression, anxiety, and Crohn’s had gotten, Mitch decided to track his journey to better manage his health. Through mindfulness and self discipline, Mitch was able to beat his depression and manage his Crohn’s, all while documenting the process. Check out our Awareness page and Mitch’s Story to help better understand the disease and learn how you can help.

Here at Mitch’s Soccer 2.0, we believe the best way to fight the stigma associated with mental health and IBD is to talk about it. Here are some of the ways Mitch’s Soccer 2.0 is committed to helping those in need:

  • Mental health awareness and action events
  • Online resources at
  • Fostering positivity and inclusivity into all of our free soccer services to encourage participants to uphold the Mitch’s Soccer 2.0 Winners Mentality

Our free global soccer services provide everyone who loves the beautiful game a chance to enjoy it. No matter your background, income, level of skill or location Mitch and his highly trained trained staff travel the globe to support communities, players and coaches while delivering positive messages and health awareness.

2.0 is more than soccer and awareness, it’s about positivity and the power of helping others. Everyday our team strives to create positive energy while running camps, events, mental health nights and generally doing kind acts on the day to day. A positive mind is the first step to a healthy mind and improved game.

Words from Mitch…

I started writing this letter during my summer 2018 hospital stay, the darkest days of my life. Today, with a clear my mind and a healthier gut I've finished writing. The website is unfiltered and real, making it extremely hard to write and give back. I've shared my story with hopes of helping myself and others who may be struggling...

February 14th, 2;04am

To everyone reading, learning and taking interest in Mitch’s Soccer, it means the world to me. Never in my wildest dreams did I envision Mitch’s Soccer ever continuing after my diagnosis.

To the players, parents, coaches, staff, volunteers, managers, teammates and friends I’ve worked with during my journey, You gave me energy when I had none.

To the Island View High School Girls Soccer players, coaching staff and parents; Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to coach during my recovery. The amazing friendships, championships and memories we built together will last a lifetime. Although it was our inaugural season and a short one at that, the energy you players brought every game was the only reason I got out bed during that period of my life.

Most importantly, to Amelia, my family and Anupama; Thank you for helping me through the ugly times and everything you’ve done for me. Mitch’s Soccer is nothing without you, I love you all and I’m sorry if I hurt you during my struggles we endured together.

Mitchell Doell

Mitch’s Story

Mitch Doell is a volunteer soccer coach and multi-discipline athlete. In 2016 he combined his entrepreneurial spirit with his love for soccer and founded Mitch’s Soccer, offering training, coaching and camps. Today, he is excited to launch Mitch’s Soccer 2.0, offering free soccer services for all.

“When I was diagnosed with severe Crohns in June 2018, the possibility of continuing Mitch’s Soccer seemed impossible and caused me even greater depression. I woke up most days wondering if I’d be better off dead”

Since being diagnosed with Crohn’s, discipline and diet have allowed Mitch to improve his physical and mental health in order to continue Mitch’s Soccer. Through the power of positive thoughts and the support of the soccer community, Mitch was able to beat his depression and manage his Crohn’s.

“My family, doctors and friends were amazingly supportive but nothing replaces the comfort I felt when I stepped out of the hospital and back on the field for the first time in July 2018. The players brought a banner and cake that said “Feel Better Soon Mitch, We Love You!” That was the first time I smiled in months.”

Mitch is currently living in Montreal, Quebec, where he runs Mitch’s soccer 2.0 and FYM Trading.
